Dan Plummer is a Lake Charles, LA resident and amateur photographer whose favorite images are made under unusual light.  His typical subjects are  landscapes, wildlife, and night and city scenes, many of which are familiar to residents of Southwest Louisiana.  Drawing from his background as a scientist, he likes to experiment with long exposures, night shooting, stereo images and alternative photo processes. With these techniques he creates images with different interpretations of space, movement, and our environment.

His work has been featured in the 2018 and 2019 Southwest Louisiana “Thrive” magazine calendars, the Oxford American online dispatch “The By and By”, the Black Box Gallery in Portland, OR, the Amanda Smith Gallery in Johnson City, TX, the 22North Gallery in Ypsilanti, MI, and the 311 Gallery in Raleigh, NC.  He is a member of the Gallery by the Lake in Lake Charles, LA, and his most current work is regularly on display there.

Dan grew up in Ohio, worked in the chemical industry as a chemist and research manager, and has been enjoying photography since retiring at the end of 2016.
